When the Vivo X300 Pro launched in India, it was easy to recommend it for most buyers looking at a premium camera phone. But now, the Vivo X300 Ultra has arrived, bringing an even more powerful dual 200MP camera setup, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, and a slightly bigger battery. But it costs Rs. 50,000 more than the Pro, which is not a small gap. So, the question is not just which phone is better, but also which offers more value for money. Let's find out in the Vivo X300 Ultra vs X300 Pro comparison.
Vivo X300 Ultra vs X300 Pro: Design
- The Vivo X300 Ultra weighs 232 grams and it is 8.19m, featuring a polished aluminium frame
- On the other hand, the X300 Pro weighs 226 grams and measures 8 mm in thickness with and aluminium frame
- Both are IP68 and IP69 rated for water and dust resistance
The X300 Ultra and X300 Pro share the same broad design language, a large circular camera island, and a premium build quality. But hold them side-by-side, and the differences become clear pretty quickly. As I have described in my Vivo X300 Pro review, it has always been an easy phone to live with. At 226g and 8mm thickness with curved sides, it sits comfortably in the hand even during long use.

Vivo X300 Ultra is the heavier and slightly thicker of the two at 232g and 8.19mm, and you feel that in hand. The camera module is enormous, and the weight distribution makes the phone noticeably top-heavy. The Eclipse Black colourway with a red accent ring looks sharp, but one-handed usage is not easy. That said, the fibreglass back has a satin-like texture that feels genuinely premium and resists smudges well.

Both have IP68 and IP69 ratings, so water resistance is not a differentiator here. If you want something easier to carry all day, the Vivo X300 Pro wins here without debate. The Ultra looks better, but definitely not the most comfortable of the two.
Vivo X300 Ultra vs X300 Pro: Display
- The Vivo X300 Ultra has a higher resolution 2K LTPO AMOLED display with 144 Hz refresh rate
- Meanwhile, the X300 Pro has a slightly lower 1.5K LTPO AMOLED screen with 120 Hz refresh rate
- Both phones support 10-bit colour and HDR 10+ support as well as 4500 nits peak brightness
On paper, the Ultra has a higher resolution 2K LTPO AMOLED panel, a faster 144 Hz refresh rate, and a slightly larger screen size. The panel handled deep blacks quite well without crushing shadow detail in our Vivo X300 Ultra review. Even the brightness on both is quite high at 4,500 nits, which is more than enough for bright outdoor conditions.

The X300 Pro's 1.5K display is the same panel Vivo has used across the X200 Pro and X100 Pro before. It is still a flat, gorgeous screen with near-invisible bezels and vivid colours that make content pop without looking too artificial. Like the Ultra, it also handles deep blacks very well and strong contrast.

The gap in resolution is hard to point out in day-to-day usage until you start pixel peeping. The same goes for the jump from 120Hz to 144Hz, which does not offer a massive difference outside of gaming. But if you are watching a lot of high-quality video content or you simply want to pick the best display between the two, the Vivo X300 Ultra is the clear winner here.
Vivo X300 Ultra vs X300 Pro: Hardware
- The X300 Ultra has the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with 5,800mm² vapour chamber cooling
- Vivo X300 Pro features a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor
- Both come with up to 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1 TB UFS 4.1 storage
Both phones offer top-tier performance in their own right, but they go with different chipsets. The Vivo X300 Ultra runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which is the faster processor on paper and in benchmarks, hitting close to the 4 million mark in AnTuTu.

In real-world usage, it flies past every task. Even gaming at the highest settings across BGMI, CoD Mobile, and Genshin Impact is smooth at 120 FPS. As I have explained in my Vivo X300 Ultra vs X200 Ultra comparison, it also handles thermals better thanks to the larger 5,800mm² vapour chamber.

Vivo X300 Pro Benchmarks

Vivo X300 Ultra Benchmarks
On the other side, the X300 Pro comes with the flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9500, which is no slouch either. While it scores slightly lower in benchmarks, it never slowed down or ran hot during gaming. CoD Mobile locked at 120 FPS, and even heavier titles like Wuthering Waves ran well at high graphics.

For most buyers, both phones will feel equally fast in day-to-day use. But if you want the absolute best gaming phone, then X300 Ultra pulls ahead.
Vivo X300 Ultra vs X300 Pro: Software
- Both the Vivo X300 Ultra and the X300 Pro come with OriginOS 6 based on Android 16
- The Vivo X300 Ultra promises 5 years of Android updates and 7 years of security patches
- Whereas, the X300 Pro promises 5 years of Android updates and 6 years of security patches
In terms of software, both phones are in a tie. They both come with OriginOS 6, based on Android 16 out of the box, even in the global units. The interface is fast and fluid, with smooth transitions, a clean visual design, and responsiveness that feels genuinely polished. In our review, we mentioned that coming from the iQOO 12, this feels slightly snappier.

There are useful additions here, too. The Origin Island feature lets you check on your live activities and drag and drop files anywhere easily. The UI also borrows some elements from iOS 26, like the transparent design language. That said, both phones have some sort of pre-installed bloatware. This is something we also shared in our Vivo V70 Elite review.
Both phones will also get 5 years of software updates, but the Ultra will get an additional year of security patches, which is the only meaningful difference between the two in the software section.
Vivo X300 Ultra vs X300 Pro: Camera
- The Vivo X300 Ultra is equipped with a 200MP Sony LYT-901 (35mm) main camera
- The X300 Pro comes with a 50MP Sony LYT-828 (23mm) main shooter
- Both phones feature a 200 MP periscope + 50MP ultrawide + 50 MP selfie camera and support 8K 30 FPS recording
In terms of camera, both phones do an excellent job but it is also where they differ the most. Let's compare the X300 Ultra and the X300 Pro and compare the camera differences between the two.
Main Camera
The X300 Ultra has a 200MP Sony LYT-901 main sensor that shoots at 35mm. This is a tighter focal length compared to most smartphones. In comparison, the X300 Pro has a more standard 50MP Sony LYT-828 sensor at 23mm.

Both phones take exceptional images in both day and night situations. But the Pro is more immediately accessible and familiar, while the Ultra, with its tighter optics, requires some adjustment to get used to, but it offers more photographic and natural perspectives, especially for street photography.
Periscope Camera
Both phones carry a 200MP periscope camera, but the Ultra's implementation is slightly better. It features CIPA 7.0 stabilisation, which offers more stabilised and controlled shots at higher zoom ranges in my experience. Consistency between the main and telephoto lenses in terms of colour science and exposure is also impressive.

The X300 Pro's 200MP periscope telephoto is excellent in its own right and takes detailed images when zoomed in, but it does introduce more noise in low-light conditions. It is still one of the better telephoto implementations, but the Ultra's stabilisation gives it a clear lead.
Ultrawide Camera
In terms of ultrawide, the Pro comes with a 50 MP lens that takes neat shots with no fisheye effect or any distortion. On the other side, the X300 Ultra also uses a 50 MP ultrawide equipped with a Sony LYT-818 sensor, the same one used for the main camera of the Vivo X200 Ultra. This delivers slightly sharper and richer images, but both phones struggle in low-light situations.
Selfie Camera
As for selfies, you can find a 50 MP front camera on both devices, and it takes solid photos under good lighting conditions. The skin tones are mostly accurate and close to natural. However, there is a visible softening effect that is applied to the final image from both phones. This can be good if you want a shot to directly share on your socials, but personally, we prefer photos without such an artificial look.
Video Recording
Both phones support up to 8K at 30FPS recording and 4K at 120FPS through the rear cameras, and 4K at 60FPS through the front camera. The Vivo X300 Ultra and the Pro also support 10-bit Log recording in Pro mode. In terms of video quality, I can confidently say that the Ultra offers better stabilisation across all of its lenses. The Pro matches it closely, but it is not as smooth.
Vivo X300 Ultra vs X300 Pro: Battery
- X300 Ultra has a 6,600mAh battery with 100W FlashCharge support
- X300 Pro comes with a 6,510mAh cell paired with a 90W charging
- Both phones come with 40W wireless charhing support
Coming to battery comparison between the X300 Ultra and the Pro, the Ultra has a 6,600mAh cell, which delivered around 8 hours of screen-on time in our review. Meanwhile, the X300 Pro's 6,510mAh battery is only marginally smaller, and the real-world difference is hard to notice. It averaged around 7.5 hours of screen-on time and can stretch longer with light usage.

The Ultra charges slightly faster, going from 15–50% in around 15 minutes. The Pro takes a little longer to top up, but both phones support 40W wireless charging. So, in terms of battery, both devices are on par with each other.

| Weight | 232g | 226g |
| Price | Rs 1,59,999 | Rs 1,09,999 |
This entire X300 Ultra vs X300 Pro comparison really comes down to one question: how seriously do you take mobile photography? The X300 Pro at Rs 1,09,999 is still one of the best camera phones in India. It's 50MP main camera takes stunning images, the Dimensity 9500 handles everything you throw at it, and the battery is impressive. It is a well-rounded flagship at its price with little to no compromises.
The X300 Ultra raises the bar at Rs 1,59,999. The dual 200MP camera setup, CIPA 7.0 stabilisation on the telephoto, the stronger Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, the slightly larger battery, and the better charging speed all add up to a phone that is objectively better than the Pro in most departments. But the Rs 50,000 gap is real, and for most people, that money could go toward a lot of other things.
