After releasing the third iOS 26.1 Public Beta on October 16, 2025, Apple has now started the complete rollout of the iOS 26.1 update, starting today. This is the first official iOS 26.1 general build, which brings Apple's Liquid Glass design, new toggles, Apple TV logo and more.
iOS 26.1 update ships with new Liquid Glass toggles
After releasing the iOS 26 stable build almost two months ago, Apple has now decided to ship the full iOS 26.1 stable and general build to all iPhone users. As part of this new update, iOS 26-supported devices will now be able to experience the new tinted option in Liquid Glass toggles. It is present alongside the regular "clear" option and can be easily switched via the Liquid Glass menu inside the Display & Brightness menu. The new tinted mode adds a certain level of opacity to the tabs bar and notification.

Additionally, with the general release, for the first time, Apple has introduced a new second toggle for the swipe to open Camera gesture. It can now be disabled from the iPhone lock screen itself. Users can now toggle the option off completely to prevent accidental swipes. To do so, head over to Settings > Camera > Lock Screen Swipe to Open Camera to enable or disable the same.
Other than that, the new language support for Apple Intelligence and AirPods Live Translation, which we saw in earlier iOS 26.1 builds, is also present here. Similarly, the new Local Capture menu, the Prefer Single-Touch Actions toggle and the redesigned Apple TV logo also make their way via this general release.
That said, eligible users can install the iOS 26.1 update by heading over to Settings> General> Software Update> Update Now. Alongside iOS 26.1, Apple is also expected to ship the general stable updates of iPadOS 26.1, macOS 26.1, watchOS 26.1, tvOS 26.1 and visionOS 26.1.
