Summary

  • Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash, AKA Nano Banana, can now be directly used on X.
  • Users can mention @NanoBanana in their X posts alongside a prompt to create, edit, remix or reimagine photos.
  • Nano Banana is also available on the Gemini app and is already rated as the top model for image editing.

Google rolled out its Nano Banana image generation model last month, with impressive image generation and editing capabilities. Well, the firm is now bringing it to the popular social media platform X, making it more accessible.

Google's official Nano Banana account on X posted recently that users can now generate or edit images by mentioning "@NanoBanana". Users would need to enter a text prompt about how they want their new or existing image to look and get the results.

Nano Banana is now also available on the Gemini app. It can combine multiple photos, edit and reimagine or remix them with ease. It's worth noting that all the images generated in both the Gemini app and on X will have an invisible SynthID watermark.

Nano Banana has already conquered LMArena's list of top models for image editing, scoring an excellent 1,362 ELO points. The second-best score belongs to Flux.1 Kontext [max], which sits at 1,191 points.

With its arrival on X and Gemini, Nano Banana is Google's answer to the growing demand for powerful image generation and editing tools.

Whether it becomes the go-to choice for creators or professionals remains to be seen. However, it's a strong window through which users can explore AI image generation in the spaces where they already share and create content.
