Nothing has officially revealed the design of its next-generation TWS earbuds, the Nothing Ear (3). From the looks of it, the brand has a bunch of new tricks up its sleeve for the upcoming flagship earbuds.
Not too long ago, the Nothing Ear (3) were officially teased and now, the brand took to its official X handle to post an image of the earbuds. The post highlights the trademark transparent aesthetic of the Ear (3) along with new design elements and performance promises. While the upcoming Nothing earbuds continue with the brand's unique transparent design language, there are some noticeable changes.
Offbeat looks. Stronger signal. Material difference.

It became a lot clearer when we took a look at the teaser video Nothing posted on its Discord channel. From the looks of it, while the Nothing Ear (3) charging case comes in the familiar sleek square form factor with a clear lid, the base seems to be metallic this time around. At least it looks metallic.
Most importantly, what instantly stood out was the presence of a new "Talk" button, hinting at a deeper voice assistant integration (ChatGPT? Perplexity?). Besides, we can also see that in place of the LED indicator, there's the pairing button. The LED indicator has now been moved to the top, from the looks of it.

However, where the pairing button was previously, there are now what seem like two mysterious buttons alongside the USB-C port. The textured black button on the Ear (3) case could be the customisable button that was seen on the Headphone (1), used to activate the Channel Hop feature.
This allows users to easily switch between recent audio apps, which can be customised via the Nothing X app. As for the other button, it could very well be another indicator.

The earbuds themselves retain the familiar stemmed in-ear fit but incorporate metallic accents, giving them a more premium look while staying true to Nothing's minimalist design approach. It makes sense, since Nothing does promise a "material difference" with the Ear (3).
Additionally, the Nothing Ear (3) has also been teased to flaunt a "stronger signal," which could suggest key upgrades in connectivity and sound performance. Bluetooth 6.0, anyone? One can expect to see better wireless stability, improved drivers and an enhanced Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) in comparison to the Ear (2024). Battery life improvements and faster pairing could also be expected to be part of the upgrades.
With the Nothing Ear (3) launch date set for September 18, 2025, we'll just have to wait another week to know all the details.
