One UI 8 Beta testing is in full swing, with Samsung Unpacked 2025 on the horizon. Unlike One UI 7, the update isn't huge by any means but still brings a few improvements, including a new lock screen clock design that is more customisable.
Samsung is testing a dynamic and more customisable lock screen clock widget on One UI 8 beta. The widget brings an effect to the clock where the number elements reshape themselves to wrap around the subject of the wallpaper. When a user moves the clock or wallpaper, the time shifts along in real-time, which is a nice touch.

A One UI 8 beta tester Topraks9plus posted a video on X with the feature in action. It shows the ability to adjust the clock wherever you want on the screen, with the numbers adapting to the movement and the subject quite smoothly.

Besides, the lock screen clock also includes options like changing the font, its weight, colours, and more. The auto-adjusting numerical add a whole new dimension to lock screen clock customisations. It's something we're yet to see on iOS or other Android skins.
The One UI 8 build in which the feature is rolling out is "BYFB" on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. It's the same build that confirms that One UI 8 may have moved to stable. Besides the new lock screen customisations, Samsung is also working on enhanced Quick Share and new Notes app interface, followed by new actions in Now Brief and more.
While we don't know when One UI 8 might roll out to Samsung devices, we do know that the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7 and Z Flip 7 FE will arrive with One UI 8 out of the box. Considering Samsung feels confident about the update, we could see it roll out before or right after Galaxy Unpacked 2025 on July 9.
