Months after dismissing reports of its global retreat, OnePlus is now reportedly preparing to exit the US and European smartphone markets. The company is expected to announce its departure as early as this week, marking the end of its decade-long presence in the regions.
OnePlus Is Reportedly Exiting the US and Europe
The report arrives from Winfuture and its "well-informed sources" that OnePlus is seemingly exiting the European and US markets, as Oppo plans to step in and fill the void. The writing has been on the wall since January 2026, when early reports about OnePlus leaving global markets surfaced. However, OnePlus initially dismissed these claims as rumours.

However, more signs started appearing as OnePlus employees either started leaving or were being reassigned to roles at Oppo. This transition became publicly visible when the OnePlus Germany website redirected to Oppo product pages.
While the exact reasons for the exit remain undisclosed, the sources suggest that OnePlus products will soon vanish from shelves. The brand is currently selling off remaining stock, and European online inventories are reportedly nearly depleted.

Those who recently bought OnePlus phones may not need to worry though. The report states that, "in recent discussions with members of the press", both brands have confirmed that phones already sold in the US and European markets will continue to receive their promised chunk of software updates. However, no new OnePlus hardware will be launched moving forward.
Changes in OnePlus are seemingly not limited to Europe and the US. OnePlus India's CEO recently resigned, and while there are no reports of the brand leaving India, it is expected to focus on launching only budget and mid-range smartphones and tablets.
Users will be incredibly disappointed with OnePlus' exit, as it was one of the few brands that launched good value-for-money smartphones. What began in 2013 as an ambitious project to deliver flagship killer specifications is almost certainly being killed. We should hear more about the brand's exit by the end of this week, so stay tuned.
