Summary

  • Oppo is reportedly prepping the Find X9 Ultra with a dual periscope camera and a 200 MP main lens.
  • It is also said to bring a 6.8-inch 2K LTPO flat OLED display panel and a 7,000mAh battery.
  • Early reports hint at a Q2 2026 launch window for the Oppo Find X9 Ultra.

Oppo's next "Find X" upgrade will arrive in the form of the Find X9 lineup. The series is expected to bring four new smartphones, with the Find X9 Ultra leading the pack. Some key details of the Ultra have now surfaced online.

Tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) has shared additional information, specifically about the Find X9 Ultra's camera and display. According to the leaker, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra will continue to feature a quad-camera setup at the back just like its predecessor. However, the real difference will be in the lenses used.

The smartphone is rumoured to arrive as the only Find X9 series device to feature a dual periscope telephoto camera module. This is said to help the device achieve continuous multi-focal zoom levels by combining a mid-tier periscope camera with a high-end periscope lens.

While, the report has not mentioned anything about the mid-level telephoto camera specs, it does say that the flagship-grade periscope unit will feature a 1/1.3-inch large sensor. This will allow the Find X9 Ultra to let in more light for better low light photography, improved dynamic range and achieve DSLR-like bokeh shots.

While this is noteworthy, DCS also claims that the dual periscope unit will be backed by a 200 MP 1/1.1-inch main camera module. While this is impressive, this indicates a clear shift from the 50 MP large 1-inch sensor that was used in the Oppo Find X8 Ultra. This is also in line with an earlier report that indicated the Find X9 Ultra ditching a 1-inch main sensor for a 200 MP lens.

Apart from this, expect an ultra-wide-angle lens to complete the quad-camera setup on the Find X9 Ultra. While DCS has mentioned the megapixel value of the dual periscope and ultra-wide cameras, all three are expected to be a 50 MP unit as per an earlier leak.

That said, the report has also mentioned the smartphone's display. It has been revealed to sport a 6.8-inch 2K LTPO flat OLED panel with a 2.5D curved glass. If true, this will mean that Oppo is using the same display panel as that of the Find X8 Ultra.

Although DCS has not mentioned the refresh rate of the screen, we believe it to be 120 Hz keeping in mind the Find X8 Ultra features the same refresh rate value.

Other than that, expect the smartphone to draw its power from the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor and bring a 7,000mAh battery to the mix. Software-wise, it will very likely come with ColorOS 16 based on Android 16.

Of course, it doesn't need additional mentioning that Oppo will continue its Hasselblad partnership for the Find X9 series as well. However, the key addition this time could be a dedicated Hasselblad Photography Kit with the Find X9 Ultra. Since the smartphone could see a Q2 2026 launch window, we are still months away from hearing anything official from Oppo.
