  • Samsung Galaxy A17 5G has been spotted on Geekbench with the Exynos 1380 chipset.
  • It scores 942 points in the single-core test, 2,137 points in the multi-core test and 1,318 OpenCL points in the GPU test.
  • Key specs could include a 50 MP main camera, 6 GB RAM and Android 15.

Samsung is seemingly gearing up to launch a successor to last year's Galaxy A16 5G smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy A17 5G has now been spotted on Geekbench, which reveals some key details like the processor used as well as the RAM configuration.

First spotted by tipster Abhishek Yadav on X, the smartphone has been listed under the SM-A176B model number in Geekbench. The phone has managed to score 942 points on Geekbench 6.4.0's single-core CPU test. Meanwhile, it has achieved 2,137 points in the multi-core test. Apart from this, the device has scored 1,318 OpenCL points in Geekbench 6.4.0's GPU benchmarking test.

As for the processor, the listing mentions an octa-core processor with 6 cores clocked at 2.00 GHz and 2 cores clocked at 2.40 GHz. It also bears the s5e8535 codename.

Given how familiar the CPU architecture is and how low the scores are, we expect Samsung to use the Exynos 1380 chipset for the Galaxy A17 5G. This means that it will sport the Mali-G68 MP5 GPU.

Apart from this, the listing reveals 6 GB RAM and Android 15 for the device. However, a previous leak hinted at One UI 8 based on Android 16 for the Galaxy A17 5G.

Leaks have also speculated a 50 MP main camera sensor with OIS support and up to 6 years of software updates for the device. That's all that can be said about the device right now. However, we expect more details to surface in the coming days, so stay tuned.
