Qualcomm just dropped a teaser on the official Snapdragon X account that seemingly confirms that Samsung's next flagship, the Galaxy S27 Ultra, will stick with an upcoming Snapdragon chip. The video walks through every Galaxy S flagship since the original 2010 model and ends with a message saying, "And there's so much more to come".
Snapdragon Poised to Power the Galaxy S27 Ultra
The teaser comes at a time when Samsung has brought back its own Exynos 2600 chipset for the Galaxy S26 and S26+ in most regions around the world. Meanwhile, the top-tier Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra still uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor in all regions.
In the X post, the caption reads, "Year after year—more power, more performance, more possibility. And more to come with @Samsungmobile." As you can see, Qualcomm tagged Samsung Mobile directly which makes it more convincing.

Now, this matches up with the latest leaks. Qualcomm is reportedly preparing two flagship chips this year - the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 (SM8950) and the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro (SM8975). Meanwhile, the brand is also reportedly adding a Galaxy S27 Pro to the lineup.
According to tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS), Samsung is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro in both the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra globally, while the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 may show up in the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+. But this only applies to the US and some other markets.
For the rest of the world, Samsung may use its in-house Exynos 2700 chipset on Galaxy S27 and S27+. An Exynos 2700 Geekbench listing also surfaced online earlier this month, hinting at its performance and existence. The Galaxy S27 Ultra and Pro models would likely keep the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro in all markets.
Of course, there have been rumours saying that Samsung may go all-in on Exynos for its S27 lineup, but it looks like the Ultra/Pro models would stick to Snapdragon chips. Meanwhile, Qualcomm is considering using Samsung Foundry to manufacture its upcoming Snapdragon chips. Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon flew to Seoul on Monday this week to have discussions with the Samsung Foundry president.
And now, this teaser has popped up from Qualcomm's official Snapdragon account. It's likely the deal has gone through and we may see a deeper partnership between the two companies. Finally, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S27 series in January or February of 2027.
