Samsung is about to squeeze budget Indian consumers yet again. Following the previous budget smartphone price hike in India, a leaked internal memo reveals that the Korean giant will quietly hike the prices of several budget and mid-range Galaxy smartphones in India from March 5, 2026. For some smartphones, this marks the third consecutive price bump since the start of 2026.
Samsung phones are getting more expensive
According to a document shared by Abhishek Yadav on X, the new Samsung price increases target specific RAM and storage configurations across the Galaxy A, F and M series. These range from a modest Rs 500 to a massive Rs 3,000 hike.

Starting with the A series, the Galaxy A06 5G (6 GB + 128 GB) and Galaxy A17 5G are highlighted to receive a price hike of Rs 500 and Rs 3,000. The Galaxy F17 5G and the Galaxy M17 5G, on the other hand, are being bumped by Rs 1,000 each, with the 6 GB version of the M17 5G seeing a Rs 500 price increase.
The Galaxy F36's 8 GB + 256 GB variant is getting a Rs 1,500 price increase, whereas the 8 GB + 128 GB variant sees a modest Rs 500 bump. The same is the case with the 8 GB + 256 GB and 8 GB + 128 GB variants of the Galaxy M36, which will cost Rs 21,999 and Rs 25,999 (up from Rs 21,499 and Rs 24,499). Here's a comprehensive list:

While Samsung hasn't officially stated the reason behind the sudden change, the culprit is almost certainly the ongoing memory crunch, raising the smartphone costs significantly. Besides smartphones, rumours suggest Samsung's tablets could be next on the chopping block for a price increase.
Abhishek also reports that the budget Oppo smartphones like the A6 Pro, A6x and Reno 15C could also see a price increase soon. Therefore, if you are considering buying any of them, now would be a good time to act.
