At MWC 2025 in March, Tecno unveiled the Spark Slim, touting it as the “world’s slimmest smartphone.” While that version was showcased only as a concept, the company is now bringing the device to market in India with a new name – the Tecno Pova Slim 5G. The smartphone is officially set to launch in India on September 4, 2025, at 12:00 PM IST.
A Flipkart microsite for the phone is live now, which confirms that it will be sold via the platform. While the brand doesn't specify anything, leaks suggest that the Pova Slim 5G could be just 5.95mm thick.

For comparison, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge launched earlier this year with a 5.8mm thickness, while the upcoming iPhone 17 Air is rumoured to be just 5.5mm. That means the Pova Slim 5G will technically hold the title of the world’s slimmest smartphone until the iPhone 17 series launch event on September 9, 2025.
The design of the Tecno Pova Slim is also a major talking point. Its landing page reveals a horizontal camera module stretching across the top, housing two cameras and a light strip that Tecno calls the Dynamic Mood Light. An LED flash sits at the center of the camera island.

Despite its slim profile, the phone includes a noticeable camera bump. While the brand hasn't confirmed any details, the Tecno Spark Slim concept did feature a dual 50 MP rear camera setup. The back panel appears to be glass with a glossy finish, while the overall build features curved edges for a sleek look.
These design elements certainly make the Tecno Pova Slim 5G strikingly similar to the upcoming iPhone 17 Air. However, it’s worth noting that Tecno’s concept design was unveiled months before iPhone 17 Air leaks surfaced.

While Tecno is yet to reveal the key specs of the Tecno Pova Slim 5G, it is confirmed to feature its in-house Ella AI and No Network Communication features, which the budget Tecno Spark Go also flaunted. That said, thanks to the known specs of the Tecno Spark Slim prototype, we have a rough idea of what else to expect from the Pova Slim:
- 6.78-inch 1.5K 144Hz AMOLED panel
- 4,500 nits display peak brightness
- 5,200mAh battery
- 45W fast charging
That said, there may be changes in the final retail model. For example, the Spark Slim prototype was slightly thinner at 5.75mm, compared to the Pova Slim’s expected 5.95mm. Other specifications could also see adjustments, but with the launch just days away, we won’t have to wait long to find out.
