The smartphone market is absolutely battered by price hikes, with mid-range and budget phones being the most affected. Vivo and iQOO already rolled out a round of price increases in early June. But today, Vivo has again raised prices across its lineup, with hikes reaching as high as Rs 7,000 on select models, adding to the existing plight of buyers.

Several Vivo and iQOO phones saw a price increase in June, while the Vivo V70 series and Vivo Y21 saw a Rs 4,000 price hike just days later.
The most substantial price jump arrives for the recently launched Vivo X300 FE, which sees a massive Rs 7,000 increase. The 12 GB + 256 GB variant now costs Rs 86,999 (up from Rs 79,999), whereas the 12 GB + 512 GB model has climbed from Rs 89,999 to Rs 96,999.
The Vivo V70 FE, featuring a Dimensity 7360 Turbo chipset, has been hiked by Rs 4,000 and Rs 5,000 across its configurations. This pushes the top-end 12 GB + 256 GB variant to Rs 46,999.
Similarly, the mid-range Vivo Y51 Pro and Y31 5G have seen price increases of Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000, respectively, bringing the price of their base variants to Rs 30,999 and Rs 25,999.
That said, many entry-level and budget phones have not been spared either. The Vivo T4 Lite price has been bumped by Rs 4,000 for its 8 GB + 128 GB variant to Rs 20,999. On the other hand, phones such as the Vivo T5x, Y21, Y11, and the Y05 have each received a Rs 2,000 price increase.
For those unaware, the price of the Vivo T5x has been hiked by Rs 6,000 since its initial launch in March 2026. The phone launched at Rs 20,999 for the 8GB model, which is now going for Rs 26,999, pitting it against the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite in this price bracket.
As smartphone prices continue to climb, the market is expected to get significantly worse for buyers in the coming months. Phones with 4 GB of RAM are back, and Dimensity 6300 chipsets are already being offered past the Rs 20,000 price point. With the ongoing RAM crisis expected to persist, the market is all set to make it difficult for consumers to find a value-for-money smartphone.
