A few days back, Vivo X Fold 6 China launch was teased by the company's product manager, Han Boxiao. He also confirmed that the phone will take multitasking to the next level and will run a special version of Origin OS 6 for foldables. Now, he has also shared the chipset used inside the phone, and it is also custom-curated for the X Fold 6.
Vivo X Fold 6 Will Feature Dimensity 9500 Super Edition Processor
The latest Weibo post from Han Boxiao has confirmed that the upcoming Vivo X Fold 6 will run on a specialised version of the Dimensity 9500 chipset, called the Dimensity 9500 Super Edition. He explains that Vivo and MediaTek have been developing this new SoC for almost two years now, and it is designed specifically for folding phones to improve multi-tasking and AI-related tasks.

The new chip is said to target three key areas of performance – multitasking, multi-threaded processing and multi-window rendering. All three combined will help the Vivo X Fold 6 take on more desktop-like workloads and enable large-screen productivity.
This makes sense since Boxiao's previous post explained how Atomic Workbench in OriginOS 6 Fold will allow the Vivo X Fold 6 to simultaneously run five apps on a single screen, giving users a seamless multitasking experience.

Moreover, the Dimensity 9500 Super Edition processor is also said to increase AI processing performance by up to 111% while reducing power consumption by up to 56%. This is in reference to the Vivo X Fold 5, which runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
Also, with the Vivo X Fold 6, the brand will also debut a newly developed AI voice engine which is said to be seven times faster in tasks like offline transcription speed, summary generation and more. It is said to bring seven times improvement in accuracy while increasing the output by up to 57%.
Lastly, the X Fold 6 will also bring an AI File Manager which will make use of large language models for performing tasks like text summarisation, AI-powered questions and answers and a new AI-backed universal file search which is 20% faster than the previous implementation.
Vivo X Fold 6 Design and Specifications (Leaked)
Now, while Boxiao's post has not revealed anything more about the folding phone, a recent Vivo X Fold 6 design leak gave us our first look at the smartphone. It was spotted in the wild, rocking a Teal Blue colour with now more rounded edges and corners than the X Fold 5. It still retains the circular camera deco, but its diameter has been reduced.

As for the phone's specs, a recent X Fold 6 specs leak report has hinted at an 8.02-inch inner display with a 6.53-inch cover screen for the smartphone. It is also said to ship with a 200 MP main camera, a 50 MP pericope sensor and a large 7,000mAh battery.
That said, the Vivo X Fold 6 is expected to go official sometime in Q3 2026. With official details dropping regularly, it won't be long before we get an actual launch date confirmation. So, stay tuned.
