Apple has officially started rolling out the iOS 26.2 update for supported iPhones, bringing refinements, app updates and critical security fixes. The update follows last month's iOS 26.1 release and polishes Apple's Liquid Glass design while introducing quality-of-life improvements across system apps.
iOS 26.2 update brings more control over Liquid Glass interface
One of the most noticeable changes in the 1.64 GB iOS 26.2 update is improved control over the Liquid Glass interface. Apple has added an opacity slider for the Lock Screen clock, allowing users to adjust how transparent or frosted the effect appears. The tweak responds to early feedback around readability and visual clutter, giving users more flexibility without changing the overall iOS 26 look.
Additionally, Apple has updated several first-party apps. Apple Music now supports offline lyrics, letting users view song lyrics without an active internet connection and making the Favourite Songs playlist easier to access.

The Podcasts app gets auto-generated chapters along with clickable links that redirect listeners to referenced shows. Meanwhile, the Games app adds new filters for sorting titles by category or size, improved controller support and live challenge score banners during gameplay.
iOS 26.2 also introduces AirDrop verification codes, making it easier to share files with people outside a user's contacts while maintaining security. Safety features have been expanded as well, with richer, map-based emergency alerts rolling out in the US. Accessibility improvements include new screen flash alerts that visually notify users of incoming alerts and calls.
Productivity gets a small boost with updates to Reminders, which now allows alarms for important tasks with snooze support and Live Activity tracking. Apple's Freeform app has also gained table support, making it easier to organise content and collaborate.
Beyond new features, iOS 26.2 patches more than 20 security vulnerabilities, including WebKit flaws that Apple says may have been actively exploited in the wild. As a result, users are strongly advised to install the update as soon as possible.
The iOS 26.2 update is now rolling out globally for iPhone 11 and newer models, along with the iPhone SE 2. Users can check for availability by navigating to Settings -> General -> Software Update.
