Nothing has teased its upcoming Nothing OS 4.0 release, hinting at upcoming features with new vector icons. The firm started testing the release on Nothing Phone (3) not too long ago and the latest teaser suggests the latest iteration of Nothing OS and could release soon.
Nothing's official X handle posted that the Nothing OS 4.0 is coming soon. The post mentions "Refined. Redefined," hinting that the OS could arrive with refinements and new features.

It's hard to make something out of the video that Nothing posted in the same post. The video shows a new numerical font, which could hint at more lock screen clock fonts and customisations. Besides, the video contains the Essential Space and Recorder logos, indicating potential improvements to those tools.
We also see an umbrella icon alongside what looks like a fan turbine, which might point toward a gaming mode? Besides, the video contains a dark mode icon, a check mark icon and a toggle. But the most interesting of all is a safety balloon or ship airbag icon.

It's hard to guess what Nothing might be cooking behind closed doors. The post caption does suggest that the release could be more about refinements than being absolutely packed with features.
Besides, we expect Android 16 features like Advanced Protection Mode and Search in Photo Picker to make their way to the OS. Moreover, Nothing CEO Carl Pei has already confirmed the integration of Android 16's Live Updates feature to the Glyph Matrix of the Phone (3).
The latest iteration is slated for a Q3 2025 rollout and Nothing OS 4.0 eligible devices are expected to receive the update within that window. However, the exact release date remains unannounced.
While an exact release date is under wraps, considering a Q3 2025 release window for Nothing OS 4.0 was already confirmed, expect all the Nothing OS 4.0 eligible devices to receive the update around that time. The update will first hit the Nothing Phone (3), followed by the Phone (3a) series and CMF Phone 2 Pro.
