While we’re caught up in Qualcomm’s confusing names, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Geekbench scores have surfaced online once again. However, this time around, the chipset has outdone itself and reached a new level of scores.
First spotted by tipster @Jukanlosreve on X, a mysterious Xiaomi device has appeared on the benchmarking platform with the model number Xiaomi 25113PN0EC (could be the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max). Now, as per the tipster, the chipset powering the device is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which scores a whopping 3,831 points in Geekbench's single-core and 11,525 points in multi-core.

While the multi-core scores don't surprise us, thanks to the 8 Elite Gen 5's previous Geekbench sighting, it's the single-core scores that steal the spotlight. It surpasses Apple's A19, which scores 3,608 points in Geekbench's single-core. It even has the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 beat by a leap, which manages to hit 3,394 points.
Moreover, it comes super close to beating the Apple A19 Pro, which scores 3,895 points. However, the A19 Pro does so at a lower frequency of 4.26 GHz, while the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 goes up to 4.61 GHz to achieve this.
This is the best Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Geekbench score we've seen so far and it's looking quite good for the chipset. Especially, since even the multi-core score defeats the A19 Pro's 9,746 points, A19's 8,810 points and Dimensity 9500's 9,974 points.
Apart from that, thanks to leaks and reports, we already know of the chipset's specifications:
- TSMC's 3nm (N3P) process
- 8-core 3rd-gen Oryon CPU
- 2x 3rd-gen Oryon clocked at 4.61GHz, 6x 3rd-gen Oryon clocked at 3.63GHz
- Adreno 840 GPU
Now, if the chipset's naming is bothering you, Qualcomm recently explained why it's called the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and not simply the 8 Elite 2. With that said, the chipset will be launching on September 23, 2025, at the Snapdragon Summit 2025 and all eyes will certainly be on it.
