After the Redmi A7 Pro 5G launch in India earlier this month, the brand has given it 4G siblings with the Redmi A7 and Redmi A7 Pro. By offering high-refresh-rate displays and massive batteries in the segment, the new Redmi A7 series phones seemingly want to ride the tide of rising 4G smartphones in a severely inflated market.

Redmi A7 and Redmi A7 Pro Specifications and Features

The two new phones in the Redmi A7 lineup are mostly similar in terms of specifications, with some key differences to tell them apart. For starters, while the Redmi A7 features a 6.88-inch HD+ 120 Hz display, the A7 Pro gets a slightly bigger 6.9-inch HD+ panel with the same refresh rate. However, the Pro variant also adds TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light and Flicker Free certifications for a more comfortable viewing experience. Both phones offer a single bottom-firing speaker.

Under the hood, both phones are powered by the Unisoc T7250 chipset, but the regular Redmi A7 gets 3 GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Meanwhile, the Pro model gets 4 GB of RAM with the same configuration. However, both phones offer 64 GB of UFS 2.2 storage, expandable up to 2 TB via a microSD card slot.

Things get interesting on the software side, with the Redmi A7 running on Android 15-based HyperOS 2 out of the box. However, Redmi gives the Pro variant an upper hand with Android 16-based HyperOS 3. What makes the Redmi A7 Pro more future-proof is that it's backed by four years of Android OS updates and six years of security patches. The more affordable A7 gets a 2 + 4 software update policy instead.

Then we are back to seeing similarities on the optics front, with both phones sporting a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash and a front 8 MP selfie shooter. Connectivity options also remain the same, with dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 802.11 ac 2.4GHz/5GHz. The duo also offers a 3.5mm headphone jack and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Now, the Redmi A7 Pro also stands out in the lineup with a bigger 6,300mAh battery in comparison to the regular A7's 5,200mAh capacity. As a result, the A7 Pro is also heavier at 208 grams in comparison to the A7's 193-gram body. But somehow the A7 Pro is thinner at 8.15mm than the regular variant's 8.26mm form. However, both phones arrive with 15W charging support.

Redmi A7 and Redmi A7 Pro Price in India and Sale Date

Both the Redmi A7 and Redmi A7 Pro arrive in a single variant and here's a quick rundown:

  • Redmi A7 3 GB + 64 GB price in India: Rs 10,999
  • Redmi A7 4 GB + 64 GB price in India: Rs 11,499

Interested buyers can get their hands on the two phones starting April 24, 2026, via Flipkart, mi.com and partner retail stores. The Redmi A7 4G comes in Sky Blue and Black colour options, while the A7 Pro embraces Sunset Orange and Black colourways.

Surprisingly, the Redmi A7 Pro 5G price in India is set similarly to the 4G variant. So, we're not sure how the 4G variant will find its footing in the market, unless Xiaomi has some price hikes in mind and makes the 5G variant costlier in the coming days. There's no doubt that the Redmi A7 lineup will face massive challenges from other phones in the segment, such as the Ai+ Nova 2 and Poco C75, which get the upper hand with 5G connectivity.
