Redmi launched the Note 15 series earlier this year consisting of Redmi Note 15, Note 15 Pro and Note 15 Pro+ and it was received quite well. However, less than a five months after its launch, the Redmi Note 17 Series has been spotted on an online database, hinting at the series launching soon.
Redmi May Skip Note 16 Series
Spotted first by Ximitime, recent certification listing leaks suggest Redmi is planning to jump directly to the Redmi Note 17 series. The database lists three different model numbers – 26012RN62L, 26012RN62Y and 26012RN62A, belonging to global and Latin American variants.

Interestingly, the database doesn't show any variants designed for India or China. However, considering the other models that have surfaced, the models should soon start appearing on India's BIS or China's 3C websites.
The reason Redmi could skip the Note 16 series is believed to be to streamline the numbering across its entire smartphone portfolio and maintain cadence. While the IMEI listings don't disclose internal hardware, other leaks discovered within HyperOS suggest the top-of-the-line Redmi Note 17 Pro Max could use a similar camera setup as the Redmi Note 15 Pro+.
This includes the 200 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultrawide camera and a 32 MP selfie snapper at the front. Meanwhile, the specifications of vanilla Redmi Note 17 and Note 17 Pro remain completely unknown.

For those unaware, the Redmi Note 15 was powered by Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, while the Redmi Note 15 Pro got Dimensity 7400, and the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 was used in the Pro+.
Considering Qualcomm recently released the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, we believe the Redmi Note 17 could arrive with the same. However, it's really hard to predict the same for the Redmi Note 17 Pro and Pro+. That said, users should expect inflated pricing on these due to the ongoing RAM crisis.
More information about the Redmi Note 17 series should surface as we inch closer to Q3 2026. Considering the phones have already appeared, it's safe to expect a Q4 2026 launch if everything goes right. Until then, stay tuned.
