Barely a week after it went on sale in India, the Samsung Galaxy M47 5G is already more expensive in India. The Galaxy M47 launched on June 29, 2026, and went on sale on July 4, but its retail listings on Amazon India now reflect a price hike of up to Rs 8,000 across its variants.

The original selling prices of the Samsung Galaxy M47 5G were Rs 25,999, Rs 28,999 and Rs 33,999 across its 6 GB + 128 GB, 8 GB + 128 GB and 8 GB + 256 GB variants, respectively. However, with a coupon and an instant bank discount, the effective launch prices went down to Rs 22,999, Rs 25,999 and Rs 30,999.

Now, the phone starts at Rs 32,999 and goes all the way up to a staggering Rs 41,999. Here's a rundown of the Galaxy M47 5G price hike:

Galaxy M47 5G variantsOriginal PriceCurrent Price
6 GB + 128 GBRs 25,999Rs 32,999
8 GB + 128 GBRs 28,999Rs 36,999
8 GB + 256 GBRs 33,999Rs 41,999

This works out to a Rs 7,000 price hike on the base variant of the Samsung Galaxy M47 5G and Rs 8,000 on the other two variants. Measured against the discounted launch-day prices most buyers actually paid, the jump is closer to Rs 10,000 to Rs 11,000.

Price hikes on older phones have become fairly routine in India over the past year, with Nothing, Vivo, Realme and other brands revising prices upward to offset the ongoing RAM crisis. We've been maintaining a record of it all in our smartphone price hikes tracker, so you can check that out for a better idea.

However, the bigger issue with the Galaxy M47 5G price hike is a severe breach of trust. Launching a phone at a price you already know won't hold, only to raise it exponentially within a week, is bound to sting buyers more than if the phone had simply launched at a higher price tag to begin with. Now, all we can hope is that other brands don't use this strategy. However, with the worsening RAM crisis, it's hard to tell.
