Summary

  • Android 16-based One UI 8 will begin rolling out in September 2025, starting with the Galaxy S25 series.
  • The update will then expand to Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, S23 series and more.
  • One UI 8 Watch is already on the Galaxy Watch 8 series, but older Galaxy watches could get it later in 2025.

Samsung has officially confirmed when its next major software update, One UI 8, will begin rolling out to Galaxy devices. Currently, the latest One UI version is only limited to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7.

The tech giant took to an official blog post to reveal that the Android 16-based One UI 8 will begin rolling out to other Galaxy devices in September 2025. Additionally, the company has also confirmed that the Galaxy S25 series will get it first.

Then, the update will extend to more models, including the Galaxy S24 lineup, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy S23 series. Besides, mid-range phones such as the Galaxy A26, Galaxy A55, Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A54 are also said to be a part of the One UI 8 eligible devices list.

Samsung hasn't revealed anything about the Galaxy Watch models getting the update yet. Currently, only the Galaxy Watch 8 series ships with One UI 8 out of the box. However, the brand did recently roll out the One UI 8 Watch Beta for Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra users in certain regions.

One UI 8 brings a refreshed design, deeper integration of the soon-to-be-paywalled Galaxy AI, improved cross-device experiences and easier setup options. Samsung says the update is aimed at making devices smarter, more connected and more personalised across the ecosystem.

With the Galaxy S25 series leading the rollout in September, users can expect the update to reach their supported devices in the following weeks.
