Summary

  • Vivo X300 and X300 Pro back design officially revealed with the new sculpted design language.
  • Both phones will also bring four new nature-inspired colour options.
  • The X300 is confirmed to feature a 200 MP Samsung HPB "Thanos" sensor, while the Pro will use the same for periscope.

For the past few days, Vivo has been teasing the arrival of the X300 series by revealing one key specification at a time. Last week, the brand teased the design of the X300 and the X300 Pro smartphones. Now, it has completely taken the veil off the X300 lineup's design.

Vivo X300 design is out now

The latest Weibo post from Huang Tao, Vice President of Product at Vivo, has given us our first official look at the Vivo X300 and the Vivo X300 Pro. Both smartphones feature an almost identical-looking camera deco at the back as that of the previous generation X200 series. However, there are big differences between them.

Unlike the Vivo X200 and the Vivo X200 Pro, where the camera island is a separate unit from that of the back panel, the X300 series brings a new sculpted design which has integrated the camera deco with the back glass seamlessly. Tao claims that the cold-sculpted glass on the back of the phone "has been precision-polished hundreds of times".

He has further added that this new design principle has allowed the brand to make the circular camera island only 1.28mm thick from the base of the back. He claims that the "transition between the lens and the glass is as natural as morning dew sliding across leaves".

Additionally, the smartphones are getting what Tao says is "nature-inspired Chinese aesthetics". It brings new Comfortable Purple and Free Blue colour options for the Vivo X300. While the Wilderness Brown and Lucky colour options are reserved for the Vivo X300 Pro. These four new hues are said to evoke a comfortable state of mind and present a visually calming colour scheme.

Vivo X300 also gets a new 200 MP camera

Underneath the new camera deco, the Vivo X300 camera setup gets a new 200 MP Samsung HPB "Thanos" sensor as the main camera. Meanwhile, this sensor will serve as the periscope sensor for the X300 Pro.

Tao claims that the X300 series will lead the industry with "the highest pixel count" and be the "ultimate photography and videography champions". Speaking of video, the Vivo X300 4K @ 60 FPS Cinematic Portrait video feature was also in the limelight very recently, which is going to be a first in the industry.

Tao says that the X300 series will represent "30 years of vivo's pursuit and dedication" towards making the best camera smartphones for its users.

Additionally, the X300 and the X300 Pro will feature the upcoming MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor and a custom-made Vivo V3+ imaging chip. The brand will also incorporate LIPO (Low-Injection Pressure Overmolding) technology for the Vivo X300 display bezels, to bring the borders down to just 1.15mm.

Apart from this, the OLED display on the smartphones will feature Zeiss Optics' Master Colour display calibration and dual eye-care support. Both phones are also expected to arrive with a dual IP68 + IP69 rating, wireless charging and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

That said, since the devices are expected to go official by mid-October 2025, we should hear more official details soon. Tao has assured that more official details will surface in the coming weeks.
