OnePlus has officially launched the Nord CE 6 and its more affordable sibling, the Nord CE 6 Lite. While the standard Nord CE series has always been giving users the best bang-for-buck offering without burning a hole in their pockets. The CE series has also been about endurance, and the latest CE 6 series embraces the same. But do the compromises on the CE 6 Lite make the CE 6 an obvious choice? Here's how the Nord CE 6 compares to the Nord CE 6 Lite.
OnePlus Nord CE 6 vs Nord CE 6 Lite: Design
- The OnePlus Nord CE 6 features a more premium build with an IP69K rating for extreme durability
- The Nord CE 6 and CE 6 Lite are different from the back, where the CE 6 Lite has a vertical camera island while the CE 6 opts for a rectangular camera island

Unlike the Nord CE4 and Nord CE4 Lite, which looked like they belonged to the same series, the OnePlus Nord CE 6 takes a slightly different design approach from the back. OnePlus has opted for a rectangular camera island at the back of the Nord CE 6, whereas the CE 6 Lite has a vertical setup, much like the Nord CE4 and Nord CE5.
Besides, the OnePlus Nord CE 6 takes a massive leap in durability, boasting IP66, IP68 and IP69K ratings, making it more durable. The Nord CE 6 Lite, on the other hand, steps down to a more standard mid-range build. Both phones should feel solid in hand, but the Nord CE 6 will hold up better over time.

Another difference is that the OnePlus Nord CE 6 lacks a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, unlike the Nord CE 6 Lite. This is because the CE 6 boasts an AMOLED panel with an in-display fingerprint scanner. More about the display differences later.
OnePlus Nord CE 6 vs Nord CE 6 Lite: Display
- The Nord CE 6 boasts a superior 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with more vibrant colours, slimmer bezels and higher 3,600 nits of peak brightness
- OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite opts for a 6.72-inch IPS LCD panel with a 144 Hz refresh rate, 1,000 nits peak brightness but doesn't feature any kind of display protection

While both smartphones offer a smooth scrolling experience with 144 Hz refresh rates, the actual display technology creates a clear divide between the two phones. The OnePlus Nord CE 6 features a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display, which delivers much better colours and houses an optical in-display fingerprint scanner.
The Nord CE 6 Lite, on the other hand, cuts costs by using a 6.72-inch FHD IPS LCD panel. The Nord CE 6's panel also gets brighter at 3,600 nits versus 1,000 nits on the Nord CE 6 Lite. Due to the lack of an AMOLED panel, the CE 6 Lite uses a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
OnePlus Nord CE 6 vs Nord CE 6 Lite: Performance
- OnePlus Nord CE 6 uses the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, offering slightly better gaming performance with a dedicated Touch Reflex chip
- The Nord CE 6 Lite relies on DImensity 7400 Apex, which trails in heavy gaming compared to the Nord CE 6's chip
- While both phones get UFS 3.1 storage, Nord CE 6 has a larger heat dissipation area (33,147mm2) compared to Nord CE 6 Lite (21,683mm2)

Performance is where the Nord CE 6 clearly outshines the CE 6 Lite. The Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 vs Dimensity 7400 rivalry is quite old. Both chipsets power phones in the sub-Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000 segment, but the Snapdragon consistently manages to come out on top. Paired with the dedicated Touch Reflex chip that boosts the sampling rate to 3,200 Hz, the Nord CE 6 is a better pick for competitive gaming.
This doesn't mean the Dimensity 7400 Apex is bad in any way. It's a capable chip that should handle most of the apps and lighter games you throw at it. However, it will struggle to run demanding titles at consistent frame rates. Titles like Genshin Impact will run much better on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 than the Dimensity 7400.

Storage-wise, both phones come with UFS 3.1 storage. However, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 should run significantly cooler when pushed to its limits, thanks to the Nord CE 6's larger heat dissipation area (33,147mm2) compared to Nord CE 6 Lite (21,683mm2).
OnePlus Nord CE 6 vs Nord CE 6 Lite: Software
- Both OnePlus Nord CE 6 and CE 6 Lite come with OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16 out of the box
- While OnePlus promises five years of total updates to the Nord CE 6 Lite, the Nord CE 6 is promised six years of updates

Unlike the hardware, the software experience on both phones is practically identical. Both phones come with all the OxygenOS 16 features. OnePlus' software is known for its smoothness and a fairly clean user experience. However, the main difference lies in the support window.
While the OnePlus Nord CE 6 will get a total of six years of updates, including four years of major Android updates, the Nord CE 6 Lite will get five years of updates, including three years of OS updates. Besides, OxygenOS 16 is filled with OnePlus' suite of AI features, including AI image editing tools, call assist and AI writing tools.
OnePlus Nord CE 6 vs Nord CE 6 Lite: Cameras
- Both the Nord CE 6 and Nord CE 6 Lite feature a 50 MP primary Omnivision OV50D40 sensor
- While the secondary camera on the Nord CE 6 is a 2 MP Auxillary unit, the one on the Nord CE 6 Lite is a 2 MP depth sensor
- The Nord CE 6 boasts a superior 32 MP front camera, while the CE 6 Lite maxes out at 8 MP

While the main sensors on both phones are identical, Nord CE 6, being the more expensive option, packs slightly better hardware. The main 50 MP f/1.8 snappers are the same across both phones. The first difference lies in the secondary snappers, where the Nord CE 6 features a 2 MP auxiliary sensor for macros, and the Nord CE 6 Lite features a 2 MP depth camera for better background blur.
The front camera on the Nord CE 6 is also a superior 32 MP lens, whereas the CE 6 Lite boasts an 8 MP sensor. This means the selfies from the 32 MP unit should be much sharper with better dynamic range.
OnePlus Nord CE 6 vs Nord CE 6 Lite: Battery and Charging
- OnePlus Nord CE 6 packs an 8,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging and 27W reverse wired charging
- The Nord CE 6 Lite gets a smaller 7,000mAh cell with slower 45W charging and 10W reverse wired charging

The standard Nord CE 6 features an 8,000mAh cell compared to the 7,000mAh battery on the Nord CE 6 Lite. It also charges almost twice as fast with 80W SuperVOOC fast charging (vs 45W on the Nord CE 6 Lite).
While both will easily last you a day, the actual differences in screen-on times might not be much, considering the OnePlus Nord CE 6's display is not only brighter but also has to push more Pixels.

The Nord CE 6 also features a much higher touch sampling rate with OnePlus' Touch Reflex chip and superior water and dust resistance ratings. It's also more future-proof with six years of total promised updates. This makes the Nord CE 6 a more complete and future-proof smartphone if you can stretch. The standard CE 6 is absolutely the way to go.
