Samsung seems to be actively working on One UI 9.5, as leaks have started pouring in daily. We recently spotted One UI 9.5 running on a Galaxy phone, ahead of its scheduled 2027 release. Now, a new report has revealed an upcoming feature called My Custom Widget, letting users build their own widgets.
Tipster Fahad Ali Javed (@fahadalijaved) shared an image on X, showing a new "Make your own Widget" / "My Custom Widget" module on the home screen, which is supposedly a way for One UI 9.5 users to create widgets for their Galaxy phones.

The leaked screenshot shows a practical example where a user pulls information from the Calendar and Messages apps to build a widget that shares their travel plans with friends over text. The widget itself uses a modular split layout, suggesting Samsung is giving users control over how the different data blocks are arranged and showcased on the home screen.
The idea here appears to be in line with what Google has done with its Create Your Own Widget module in Android 17 (CinnamonBun). The implementation could be Google's underlying widget creation tool, renamed to match Samsung's One UI ecosystem.

Moving on, Samsung has already tested this kind of personalised user-building approach once. The Now Brief module in One UI 9 has introduced the ability to create custom cards on smartphones like the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the Galaxy Z Flip 8.
That said, the new My Custom Widget feature is not live yet and is expected to debut with One UI 9.5 in 2027. The Galaxy S27 series could become the first phones to get the customisable widget option and could then expand to other eligible phones, including the One UI 9.0 eligible device list. So, stay tuned.
