Summary

  • Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge CAD renders have confirmed its edge-to-edge camera island with a dual camera setup.
  • The reason for this design change is said to be the need to accommodate components up top due to the device's thinness.
  • Expected key specs include a 5.5mm body, a 4,200mAh battery and the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor.

A few days back, the Galaxy S26 Edge appeared in the wild with an interesting design choice. Now, a fresh set of leaks has all but confirmed the smartphone's refreshed look which will very likely become the final design of the device.

Tech publication Android Headlines in partnership with OnLeaks has shared some CAD renders of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge. It has revealed the smartphone to feature the same flat overall profile as that of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. It will also have rounded edges for better ergonomics.

It will still likely feature a flat Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with minimal and even bezels all around. It will still contain a single punch-hole camera and will house the volume keys and the power button on the right side, placed on top of one another.

However, the biggest change this time around will reportedly come in the form of the smartphone's rear camera island. As it is evident from the above image, the previously pill-shaped cutout which we saw with the S25 Edge has now been replaced with a large camera island which extends throughout the top portion of the back panel.

It still contains the same dual camera setup in the top-left corner aligned vertically. However, it does protrude a lot. While this new design choice might remind some of the upcoming iPhone 17 series, which is exactly what happened when the Galaxy S26 series dummy units surfaced earlier, it might have a logical reasoning behind it.

As per tipster Ice Universe's post, the large camera deco is not empty from within. Samsung is reportedly going to shift a lot of the internal components upward to account for the smartphone's lack of thickness. At 5.5mm, the Galaxy S26 Edge could be the thinnest Samsung smartphone to date.

Additionally, the smartphone will also reportedly feature a 4,200mAh battery compared to the 3,900mAh unit on the S25 Edge. Hence, to account for both the brand will allegedly shift some of the device's components upward.

That said, while nothing is confirmed as of yet, it does seem like the final design of the smartphone. As for its specifications, leaks indicate a 6.7-inch display with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 (also known as Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5).

Alongside the 4,200mAh battery unit, the device could also feature Qi 2 magnetic wireless charging support. Samsung is also expected to replace the 12 MP ultra-wide angle unit on the S25 Edge with a 50 MP sensor on the S26 Edge.

That said, since the smartphones are expected to go live by the month of January in 2026, we should see more details surface soon in the coming months.
