The Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge's potential battery capacity has leaked yet again, suggesting a slight bump from last year. The phone is expected to be released early next year, and a new leak hints that the Galaxy S26 Edge could feature a larger battery.
Spotted by X user UniverseIce in what looks like a battery certification document, it suggests the Galaxy S26 Edge could be powered by a 4,078mAh battery.

Given how Samsung usually markets capacity, the company could advertise this as a 4,200mAh battery, up from the Galaxy S25 Edge’s 3,900mAh marketed capacity (rated at 3,786mAh).
Despite earlier rumours suggesting a Silicon Carbon battery in the Galaxy S26 Edge, the document specifically mentions Lithium-ion. Therefore, packing a larger, less dense battery in the Galaxy S26 Edge's rumoured 5.5mm chassis could be quite the engineering feat if true.

Samsung is expected to make significant changes to its lineup next year. For starters, the Galaxy S26 series could ditch the Plus variant and replace it with the Galaxy S26 Edge, following Apple's footsteps. Besides, the vanilla Galaxy S series device could be renamed to the Galaxy S26 Pro.
Samsung is also expected to pack faster 60W charging in the Galaxy S26 Ultra and a slight design change with more rounded corners. Similarly, the S26 Ultra could boast a larger screen at 6.89 inches.
With Exynos 2600 around the corner and Samsung co-developing the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 with Qualcomm, we're unsure what could potentially power the Galaxy S26 series. However, we're around four months away from the launch, and more should be revealed as we inch closer.
The Galaxy S26 series is turning out to be an interesting one. With Apple releasing the iPhone 17 series on September 9, 2025, we're looking forward to seeing how the counterparts stack up against each other. Stay tuned for future deeper dives and comparisons on the same.
