Summary

  • Nothing has confirmed the Phone (3) to feature a 50 MP periscope lens.
  • The periscope camera will offer 3x optical zoom, 60x ultra zoom and 10cm macro photography.
  • Nothing has also shared some camera samples through the Phone (3)'s periscope lens.

Ahead of the Nothing Phone (3)'s official launch on July 1, 2025, the brand has now confirmed it to arrive with a periscope camera. We also get to know of some other details about the periscope, so here's a quick rundown of it all.

Nothing took to its official X (formerly Twitter) handle to confirm that its upcoming Phone (3) will feature a 50 MP periscope lens. Additionally, the dedicated Phone (3) Flipkart microsite was also updated to reflect more details.

We get to know that this 50 MP periscope camera will also bring 3x optical zoom to the table. Additionally, the lens will support up to 60x digital zoom and 10cm macro photography. The brand also claims, "elite engineering with a 74% slimmer bump," in comparison to the Phone (3a) Pro.

The Flipkart listing also gives us a macro shot sample of the Phone (3). Nothing also took to its global X handle to reveal some impressive macro shots. Take a look:

In addition, Nothing CEO Carl Pei replied to the tweet made by the Nothing India X handle with more periscope camera samples. However, the shots shared by Carl don't seem to be captured through the periscope sensor. These shots could be captured through the ultrawide and primary cameras.

From the looks of it, the periscope camera captures details quite well, and the textures in each of these photos look sharp, natural, and impressively refined. The shadows and highlights are also handled well for a stable dynamic range. Colours also seem quite natural and there doesn't seem to be any saturation or over-processing of sorts. However, we will be able to say for sure when we get our hands on the device.

Further, thanks to our first look at the periscope sensor, we also get to see the surrounding design elements. At first glance, it seems like there should be a considerable distance between all the three cameras. Going by that, the cameras might not be on the same camera island, like on the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro. We also see what looks like a small grille, which could presumably be a microphone. However, it could simply be a design element.

Nothing Phone (3) is rumoured to arrive with two more 50 MP cameras – one being a primary wide camera and the other being a 50 MP ultrawide snapper. The front camera is also expected to be a 50 MP snapper.

As for the other specifications, Nothing Phone (3) will feature Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 alongside a 5,200mAh battery with 65W charging. The Glyph interface-replacement Glyph matrix could be in the top right corner of the device.

The firm has also confirmed that Phone (3) will get seven years of software updates. Besides, Nothing also teased a mysterious button at the back of the Phone (3) that we currently have no information about.

Given that the launch is just a few days away, we won't have to wait it out much to get all the details. Besides, we expect the brand to confirm more details in the coming days. So, stay tuned.
