Apple is set to reveal all the new changes coming with iOS 27 during the WWDC 2026 event on June 8, 2026. But Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has already revealed key details of the upcoming Siri and iOS features, including Ask Siri, a customisable Camera app, and three new AI-powered editing tools inside the Photos app.
Siri is Getting a Dedicated App
Well-known Apple Analyst, Mark Gurman, has shared key details about the upcoming iOS 27 update with rendered screenshots based on information from inside sources. The biggest news is that the new Google Gemini-powered Siri could be getting its own dedicated app for the first time in 15-years.
The new Siri app interface could allow users to have continuous back-and-forth conversations similar to ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude. Users will also be able to revisit older conversations. The results will be visible in rich text cards and similar cards that will appear for weather, forecasts and sports scores.

It will also pull from the user's personal data like notes, text messages, emails, contacts, calendar appointments and reminders. Siri will also be able to write emails, notes or text messages, using information available on the device and from the web in general.
Apple will also introduce a new "Swipe down from the top" gesture to trigger Siri from the Dynamic Island. It will appear as a bubble around the Island seen on newer iPhone models like the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16 and iPhone 17 series. From there, it can pick up context from the screen and provide relevant answers.

Customisable Camera App with Siri
Siri is also coming to the Camera app as a dedicated mode, which will replace the current Visual Intelligence system. This aligns with the previous leak about AI-powered shooting modes in the iOS Camera app. Users could also pick from third-party AI agents or Google reverse image search according to their preference.

Bloomberg's post also suggests that Apple is introducing a customisable Camera app in iOS 27 with a new widgets panel. It will allow users to select and add modes to the top row based on which ones they use the most, like depth adjustments, timers or Night mode.
Two New AI Photo Editing Tools
Apple's Photos app will add two new AI-powered editing tools in iOS 27. The first one is Extend, which lets users generate additional image content beyond the original frame, for example, taking a close-up photo of a landmark and filling in the surrounding scenery later on. Next is Reframe, which can shift the perspective of a photo after the shot is taken. They will be joining the Clean Up tool in the Photos app.

Apple is also working on a feature to edit photos with natural language, allowing users to make changes with text or voice prompts.
AI-Powered Shortcuts App
In addition to these Apple Intelligence features, Apple could also revamp the Shortcuts app in iOS 27 by introducing a new way to create automations with natural language prompts. This way, users would be able to create new shortcuts with a simple prompt without having to manually build the workflow. This will reduce the friction many people face when trying to create shortcuts for the first time.
Moreover, iOS 27 could also introduce AI-generated wallpapers, a systemwide grammar checker, and improvements to Image Playground and Genmoji with better quality results. All these are still rumoured features, and the outcome could differ from what Bloomberg has reported, but most of these features align with earlier leaks.
